Mandala Project 2008
The Mandala Project continues into 2008!
The Mandala Series Projects have been extremely gratifying to work on...creating such work is a learning process for me...learning about the mediums I work with, learning about myself...the whole idea of creating these different forms of mandalas is to release the creative process from any underlying notion of purpose, and to proceed with no specific goal in mind...basically freeing the mind so that the art can in a sense create itself!
As in the past, I will be creating one Mandala per day throughout the year, on days requested...
and hopefully sneaking in a few for myself here and there!
The mandalas measure 6.5" x 6.5" and are beautifully framed by my good friend Dan Reynolds of Skinnyboy Frames...he does remarkably gorgeous work...all 69 Mandalas from 2006 had identical frames...all fifty 2007's had a new frame design...in the frames the Mandalas measure about 8.5" x 8.5"
The 2008's will be basically the same style as the project continues through the year...colored pencil on black board, and they will feature a new frame design.
